We are delighted to announce that after the huge success of our Bingo night we have raised an incredible £2000
Thank you in particular to The Highwayman who donated such delicious food without any charge. Thank you to the amazing team who helped to make this such a fun and successful evening for everyone.
As a result we will shortly be donating:
£400.00 – Technology Department – Precision Pro Lathe
£400.00 – Art Department – SLR Camera
£400.00 – Humanities/Science Department – Digital Weather Station
As you can see these events are having a great impact on the school and providing extra equipment for every child to benefit from. So when you attend these events; buy tickets, raffle tickets and booze you are all helping to make a difference for our children – thank you!
The PTA are also at every school event selling refreshments and so far we have raised another £750.
If you are interested in joining the PTA and having your say about how we spend funds raised please come along to the next meeting on 20th March 2018 – 7.30pm at The Highwayman Inn, Checkendon.
Following some very successful events last year we were able to donate the following before the summer
Langtree School Association – PTA
What is the PTA?
The Langtree School Association a registered charity (Charity No 281545) and is run by parent and carers with a child/ren at Langtree School in Woodcote. All parents and carers are entitled and welcome to attend meetings.
The charity objectives are:
To advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Education Authority)
Who are we?
We are a group of parents and carers who want to help the children of the school wherever we can. There are three elected officer;
Chairman Diana Hathaway firstname.lastname@example.org
Secretary Viv Woods email@example.com
Treasurer Julie Li firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to the elected officers we have a larger general committee made up of parents and carers who attend meetings and help organise and run various fund raising events. All parent and carers are entitled and welcome to attend meetings.
What does the PTA do?
The PTA organises a number of social and fund raising activities throughout the year as well as providing refreshments at school functions where required.
Donations are made to school whenever possible be it for something small but important like student rewards or a larger project we may be working towards for a while.
If there is anything that you would like to see us doing or organising please let us know.
How can I get involved?
The best way is to come along to one of the meetings. You will find us a friendly bunch (usually) who are trying to provide that little bit extra for all of the Langtree pupils. It is a great way to meet other parents and like your children make new friends.
Meetings are normally held in a local pub.
We are always looking for new ideas and if you are unable to make the meeting we are always happy to hear from you by phone, email or via Facebook.
There are many ways you can get involved, from helping out occasionally front of house or in the background or would you like to come and run an event with the support of the committee or anything in between – there is something for everyone – it is up to you!
All are welcome – it would be great to meet you.
