The 11 – 16 South East Oxon Secondary Partnership

Langtree enjoys a close working partnership with other 11 – 16 schools in the locality, namely Chiltern Edge, Icknield Community College and Gillotts School. Together with Bishopswood Special School and The Henley College, the schools make up the 11 – 16 South East Oxon Area Board.

The Area Board meets termly to discuss strategy across the secondary phase, although numerous informal meetings take place between the partnership Headteachers on a frequent basis. Issues addressed recently have included the development of a coherent 14 – 19 curriculum for learners in all institutions, funding issues and a collaborative approach to staff development.

Three of the four schools now enjoy the benefits of specialist status, and the remaining school has a current application in for a specialism in Modern Foreign Languages. This additional dimension of separate areas of specialism will provide a further structure within which the schools can build even stronger sustainable links into the future.
