Assembly: Thursday 2nd May

We enjoyed seeing our friends and classmates perform their dance routines today! It was an exciting and unexpected treat. The dances had been originally seen last week at the fund-raising evening for this year’s Prom. As a group, we admired their talent, bravery to get up on stage and their skill in putting a routine together.

It was inspring to see them conquer their nerves in order to make us happy.

Professional Chef Paul Barrow visits Langtree

On Thursday the 21st of February, a professional chef visited Langtree School, to show the year 10 GCSE students how to make chocolate tart and chocolate mousse. This was a fantastic way of introducing the cold desserts module. Paul Barrows had worked in many famous restaurants in London and he has also baked for many famous people such as Nelson Mandala, so it was very exciting to meet him. All the students taking GCSE food technology were intrigued with some of the chef’s techniques, such as cooking with cling film. This was a new technique that even the teachers found interesting! Ewelme Challenge Cup winners!

During an assembly last week the Ewelme Challenge Cup was finally presented to the winning Langtree students from last year’s Year 8.  This was a result of a presentation they compiled following the ‘Maths in Nature’ day out in May, which then went into competition with our Oxfordshire partner schools who also attended the day.  Liz Davies from South Oxon 14-19 Consortium kindly came and presented the cup to Cameron Munoz, AJ Totman and Seb Avery.
