I began teaching English in 2002 and I have worked in education ever since, predominantly in Lancashire and Yorkshire before relocating to West Berkshire. I am a Fast Track and Future Leaders alumni, a former Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) and Chartered Educational Assessor. I also hold an MA in Education. I have previously held senior leadership positions across four large, contrasting secondary schools, and provided school improvement support at a local authority level. After helping guide my last school through the pandemic, I decided it was time for a change and joined the Association of College and School Leaders (ASCL) in 2023 as a member of their Hotline Team, where I advise senior leaders in education. Having taken a part time role, I wanted to use some of my spare time to support a local school and was delighted to hear from Langtree when searching for governor vacancies. I have already been impressed by the staff and students I have met and look forward to supporting the school in its future endeavours; I feel that the school is as passionate about providing an excellent education as I am and will continue to go from strength to strength by ‘Putting Learning First.
